The Last Ferrymans Cottage

This beautiful cottage was originally built for the last Ferryman – Mr John Mollineaux. Mr Mollineaux rowed passengers across the Derwent until his death in 1952. He built his home directly opposite the cottage of James Austin, the very first Ferryman, who officially started the service in 1818.
